Favorite Shows of 2010 - Friday Night LightsThe fourth season of Friday Night Lights was all about changes. Coach Taylor takes over the East Dillon football team. Tami Taylor becomes principal of Dillon. Matt and Julie come to a crossroads and take different paths. Tim Riggins fulfills his destiny as the ultimate anti-hero. And, oh yeah, there are some football games. It is always dangerous when a show decides to a reboot, but this one worked brilliantly. As Coach Taylor struggles to rebuild a football team and a community forgotten by almost everyone, it becomes clear that football isn’t just a game. It is an opportunity and for some, it is a way out of a future that was beyond bleak. This season, I adored Tami Taylor’s storyline where she finds that her dream job comes at a cost she is unwilling to pay. I also loved the evolution of Tim Riggins into a man who takes responsibility for his family, but this too comes at a high cost. Like a game of football, life often unfolds in unexpected ways.
